In our previous development log, we showcased the new map design that will be featured in the large-scale Persia DLC coming to Myth of Empires later this year. Upon the release of this dev log, many players expressed concern that such a harsh environment, with its sandstorms and scarcity of resources, might present a significantly more difficult challenge when it comes to survival and development. But in fact, creating a magnificent civilization upon this barren land, unearthing the wisdom crystallized from the conflict of multiple civilizations, and building a force to be reckoned with amidst these golden sands are all parts of what will make the Persia DLC a unique and memorable one for Myth of Empires fans. Let’s dive into some of the special mechanics that will appear in the DLC.

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention. The harsh weather and brutal ecology of the desert has forced its residents to get creative and seek new tools of production to compensate for the challenges posed by this environment. They first began to harness the immense wind energy generated by the region’s sandstorms through mechanical means, significantly reducing the need for human labor. They built systems composed of wind energy collectors, components to transfer this energy, conveyor belts, workbenches, and storage devices.

As they progressed, they started to use this energy in various production methods, including smelting, forging, and grinding. Now, thanks to the integration and shared knowledge afforded by the region’s different civilizations working together, they have expanded their methods of generating energy to firepower and the use of animal power, resulting in massive mobile platforms capable of traversing this desolate land.

These mobile platforms are propelled by large tamed creatures and firepower. They are capable of carrying structures, production equipment, and troops. These platforms move slowly, but they are invaluable when seeking out resources hidden in the desert. When complemented by other automated equipment, they become spectacular mobile fortresses!
